Freight, shipping, trade and date code tools

Free tools for the people who ship and receive freight. Work out freight class, density, dimensional weight and boxes per pallet, make a bill of lading or shipping labels, plan how many pallets fit in a trailer, container or box truck, fill in a commercial invoice, certificate of origin or USMCA certification, estimate US import duty, and check the Julian dates, lot codes and shelf life on what comes in. There is nothing to sign up for, and the results are worked out in your browser.

Which calculator do you need?

  • Shipping a pallet or crate by LTL truck: start with the freight class calculator. LTL carriers price by class, and for many items the class follows density.

  • Only need the density, for a quote form or a carrier’s density rule: use the freight density calculator.

  • Shipping boxes by UPS, FedEx or USPS: use the dimensional weight calculator. Parcel carriers bill the greater of the scale weight and the size-based weight.

  • Building a pallet from cartons: the pallet calculator finds the layer pattern, the box count and the pallet’s class in one pass.

Where the numbers come from

The freight class tools use the density scale NMFTA published for Docket 2025-1, which took effect on July 19, 2025. The dimensional weight tool uses the divisors and rounding rules UPS, FedEx and USPS publish on their own sites, checked on October 12, 2026. Every page lists its sources at the bottom. The calculators give estimates: your NMFC item and your carrier agreement have the final word.

Who builds these

Morsa is an AI COO for operations. It works in the channels a plant or distributor already uses, such as email, Outlook, Gmail, Teams, WhatsApp or the phone, and connects to the ERP and the other systems it runs on. It chases suppliers and purchase orders, keeps delivery dates honest and answers customers’ order status questions. We built these calculators because classing freight, building pallets and chasing late purchase orders often land on the same desk.

Shipping late because a supplier slipped?

Morsa chases open purchase orders with your suppliers in email, Teams, WhatsApp or whatever you already run on, and tells you early when a delivery date will move.
