Sage 100 costs from about $94 per user per month, a “very rough” starting price from Sage partner Rand Group, or about $1,300 a year for one user on the Essentials bundle per DWD Technology Group, plus $5,000 to $30,000 or more to implement [2][3]. Sage X3 starts at $25,000 a year for five full users, and RKL eSolutions puts a typical X3 implementation at $200,000 to $300,000 [4]. Sage itself publishes neither price [1][5]. The licence is the smaller cost for a 50 to 300 person company; the larger one is the people still typing orders and chasing suppliers around the ERP, which is the work Morsa, an AI operations layer, takes over.
Morsa publishes this guide. Every price below was read on Sage’s own pages or on a named Sage partner’s page, and every support date on Sage’s own knowledgebase, on 21 October 2026. Where sources disagree, we show both.
How much does Sage 100 cost?
Sage’s Sage 100 page says “Sage 100 pricing is tailored to your organization’s size and specific needs” and sends you to a request form [1]. Rand Group, a Sage partner, adds that Sage 100 is sold only through Sage partners, who quote, implement and support it [2]. These are the numbers partners publish.
What you pay for | Published figure | Who publishes it |
|---|---|---|
Sage 100 subscription, starting price | “A very rough estimate of starting price is $94 per month, per user” | Rand Group, Sage partner [2] |
Sage 100 subscription, single user, Essentials bundle | “Begins around $1,300/year” | DWD Technology Group, Sage partner since 2001 [3] |
Bundles | Essentials (lowest), Advanced, Complete (highest); no price per bundle published | Rand Group [2] |
Third-party add-ons (Sage Marketplace) | “A few hundred to several thousand dollars” each | Rand Group [2] |
Sage 100 implementation | $5,000 to $30,000 or more, by project complexity | DWD Technology Group [3] |
Support plan | Included in the subscription; Silver, Gold and Platinum tiers, lowest tier includes 5 support cases with Sage | DWD Technology Group [3] |
Hosting | Run on-premises, on a hosted server or on a virtual private cloud; no price published | DWD Technology Group [3], Rand Group [2] |
The two starting prices agree closely: $94 × 12 = $1,128 a year against DWD’s “around $1,300”. Use them as a floor, not a budget.
Which Sage 100 bundle does a distributor or manufacturer need?
Essentials is financials: general ledger, payables, receivables, bank reconciliation, reporting and credit card processing [2]. The modules a distributor runs on, Purchase Order, Sales Order and Inventory Management, plus Bill of Materials, Job Cost and Mobility for Barcode, come with the Advanced and Complete bundles [2]. Rand lists Production Management, Inventory Requirements Planning and Return Merchandise Authorization as industry modules [2]. Sage’s own page lists “manufacturing and distribution” with warehouse, purchasing, stock, sales and returns among Sage 100’s capabilities [1].
So a 50 to 300 person distributor or manufacturer is buying Advanced or Complete, and no partner we read publishes those prices. Ask each partner for a dated, itemized quote per bundle and per module.
Sage also says Sage 100 is “best-suited to US-based, single entity businesses” [1]. If you run several entities or plants, read the X3 section below and our Sage Intacct pricing guide.
How much does Sage X3 cost?
Sage X3 is Sage’s larger ERP, which Sage says is “purpose-built for manufacturing, distribution, food & beverage, chemicals” and pharmaceuticals, with multi-site, multi-currency and lot and serial traceability, offered as SaaS, private cloud or on-premises [5]. Sage publishes no X3 price [5].
What you pay for | Published figure | Who publishes it |
|---|---|---|
X3 subscription, starting price | “An X3 annual subscription starts at $25,000 before implementation”; the example is a 5-full-user manufacturing bundle, on-premises | RKL eSolutions, Sage partner [4] |
X3 licensing basis | Concurrent users by role (Administrator, Full, Accounting, Operational, Manufacturing, Transactional, Mobile Warehouse); named users unlimited | RKL eSolutions [4] |
X3 implementation | Estimates start at $150,000; total typically $200,000 to $300,000 | RKL eSolutions [4] |
X3 subscription (UK) | Typically from around £15,000 a year; the same page’s FAQ says around £20,000 | X3 Consulting, Sage partner (UK) [6] |
X3 per-user examples (UK) | 5 transactional users from £160 a year (£32 each); 7 operational users from £2,835 (£405 each); 8 full users from £8,176 (£1,022 each) | X3 Consulting [6] |
X3 implementation (UK) | £15,000 to £200,000; a modest project from £50,000; complex multi-site £100,000 and beyond | X3 Consulting [6] |
The UK page states two different subscription baselines (£15,000 and £20,000) on the same page; we show both [6]. RKL’s $25,000 and X3 Consulting’s £15,000 to £20,000 are different markets and dates, so do not convert one into the other.
Worked example: first-year and 5-year cost (estimate)
These are estimates built only from the partner prices above. Because no partner publishes the Advanced or Complete bundle price, every Sage 100 figure here is a floor: your quote will be higher. Prices are held flat; no partner we read publishes a Sage 100 renewal rise.
Company A: 50-person distributor on Sage 100. Assume 10 users (finance, order desk, purchasing, warehouse lead).
Subscription: 10 users × $94 × 12 months = $11,280 a year, Essentials-level floor [2]
Implementation: $5,000 to $30,000 [3]
First year: $16,280 to $41,280, plus the Advanced or Complete bundle uplift
5 years: (5 × $11,280) + $5,000 = $61,400 to $56,400 + $30,000 = $86,400, plus bundle uplift and add-ons
Company B: 200-person manufacturer on Sage 100. Assume 40 users.
Subscription: 40 × $94 × 12 = $45,120 a year, floor [2]
Implementation: $30,000 or more, the top of DWD’s range, for a manufacturing project [3]
First year: $75,120 or more
5 years: (5 × $45,120) + $30,000 = $255,600 or more
Company B on Sage X3 instead. RKL’s starting configuration is five full users; a 200-person firm will license more seats by role, so the subscription is a floor.
Subscription: $25,000 a year or more [4]
Implementation: $200,000 to $300,000 typical [4]
First year: $225,000 to $325,000 or more
5 years: (5 × $25,000) + $200,000 = $325,000 to $125,000 + $300,000 = $425,000, before added seats
The gap is the point: X3’s implementation alone is larger than five years of the Sage 100 floor, which is why many 200-person firms stay on Sage 100 or look at Sage Intacct, Business Central, Acumatica or NetSuite.
Hidden costs to put on the quote
Annual upgrades. Sage 100 ships a new version each April [8]; Rand says installing upgrades “may require IT resources and temporary downtime” [2], and DWD says version upgrades take significant time and money, usually with a partner [3].
Infrastructure if on-premises. Rand lists servers, storage, Windows Server licences, backup and IT support as total-cost items [2].
Add-ons. EDI, shipping, scanning and payment apps from the Sage Marketplace, a few hundred to several thousand dollars each [2].
Payroll. Sage 100 Payroll has its own version (2.26 for Sage 100 2026) and its own release schedule [7][8].
Staying supported. Each version leaves support about three years after release (next section), so budget an upgrade project every few years.
Is Sage 100 end of life?
No. Sage still sells and develops Sage 100: its product page now advertises a “new AI help agent” [1], Sage 100 2026 (version 7.5) was released on April 16, 2026, and Sage’s release schedule lists Sage 100 2027 (version 7.60.0) for April 2027 [7][8]. What ends is support for individual versions.
Sage’s knowledgebase says: “For Sage 100, we officially support the current version and two previous versions. The oldest version retires with the new release.” [7]
Sage 100 version | Released | Support status (Sage knowledgebase) |
|---|---|---|
2026 (7.5) | April 16, 2026 | Supported [7] |
2025 (7.4) | April 2025 | Supported [7][8] |
2024 (7.3) | April 2024 | Supported; “will retire with the version 2027 release” [7] |
2023 (7.2) | 2023 | Retired with the 2026 release, April 2026 [7] |
2022 (7.10) | April 18, 2022 | Retired April 29, 2025 [9] |
2021 (7.00) | April 2021 | Retired April 2024 [9] |
2020 (6.20) | March 2020 | Retired April 2023 [9] |
2019 (6.10) | September 2019 | Retired April 2022 [9] |
2018 (6.00) | October 2017 | Retired April 22, 2021 [9] |
What retirement means, in Sage’s words: “If customers are on a retired version, support may be limited. Software defects or enhancement requests will not be addressed for retired versions.” [9] Sage’s schedule pages are dated estimates and Sage notes release dates “are both subject to change” [8].
If you are on 2024, plan the upgrade before Sage 100 2027 ships. If you are on 2023 or older, you are already on a retired version.
Where the real cost lives: the people still typing into Sage 100
The quote above is the small number. The large one is the daily work around the ERP: the order desk retyping emailed and PDF purchase orders into Sage 100 Sales Order, the buyer chasing late POs by email and phone, someone answering “where is my order” from three screens and a carrier site, and the upgrade project every few years when a version retires. Sage 100 records the transactions. It does not do the chasing, the entering or the matching.
That is the work Morsa does. Morsa is an AI operations layer that runs on top of Sage 100 or Sage X3, reading and writing it, while people approve:
Order entry. Orders from emails, PDF POs and phone photos of handwritten forms go into the ERP, with customer part numbers matched to yours; Morsa asks before it guesses.
Supplier chasing. Open POs are chased from the buyer’s own mailbox, in the buyer’s words and the supplier’s language, timed for the supplier’s morning; replies are read and dates updated. When a date slips, Morsa shows which runs and customer orders it hits and proposes the fix for one-tap approval.
Receiving and matching. A phone photo of a packing slip becomes a receipt; invoices are matched to POs and receipts, and a wrong price triggers a dispute from AP’s own mailbox.
Upgrades and migrations. Morsa connects to several ERPs at once, so when you move from Sage 100 to Sage Intacct, X3 or another ERP, it reads and writes the old and new systems together and keeps one list of supplier commitments through cutover.
It works in the email, Teams, WhatsApp and phone channels your team already uses, so nobody learns new software. At J4S, a 120-person glass plant, on-time completion rose from about 30% to about 75% across about 900 commitments in four weeks [10]. At JRG Automotive, Morsa caught 5 of 8 production-stopping shortages early enough to act, saving $2 million [11].
The economics are the opposite of a seat licence: a pilot on one live problem, no per-seat licences [11], live in days, and Morsa’s terms: “We’ll catch a shortage in your plant, or you don’t pay.”
