COVERED GOODS

Merchandise valued at $800 or less, imported by one person on one day, arriving through all modes other than the international postal network.

EXCLUSIONS

This rule does not affect bona fide gifts under 19 U.S.C. 1321(a)(2)(A), personal or household articles accompanying travelers under 19 U.S.C. 1321(a)(2)(B), or merchandise arriving through the international postal network, which is addressed separately.

WHAT TO DO (OUR GUIDANCE, NOT LEGAL ADVICE)

For non-postal low-value imports, stop using de minimis release and file an appropriate formal or informal entry. Review small-package lanes and broker instructions so shipments valued at $800 or less include the data needed for entry and duty collection.
